GENERAL INFORMATION

Are you wondering what to expect once you arrive at the Blueslide Campground?

Unplug from the Digital World

After you check-in and pass through the front gate, you will lose cellular and internet reception. The drive up the road is long, and we encourage those camping to not drive back and forth.

We hope you take this opportunity to unplug and be present. Be free from targeted ads and scam calls. Enjoy the company of the fellowship and get to know one another.

In the event of an emergency, there is a landline in the campground kitchen. We also have a Registered Nurse on-site for the duration of the camp-out.

Enjoy Good Food & Good Company

This camp-out is known for good food, good vibes and plenty of down time. Our focus is on fellowshipping and the outdoors. We strive to provide time and opportunities for members of A.A. to get to know each other.

We gather together, we eat with one another, we make s'mores together, we read from the Big Book, we play outdoor games, we meditate, we swim in the river, we have A.A. meetings, we join around campfires, we go on hikes, we marvel at nature, we share and listen to one-another's journey through recovery.

Camping

This camp-out is primarily tent camping or car camping. There is plenty of open space to find a spot for yourself or create a group of your friends.

Due to fire safety concerns, there are no campfires or camping stoves allowed at your campsite. If you need special cooking accommodations for dietary restrictions, please contact us.

If you want to bring your trailer or RV, you will need to contact the venue directly. They are in charge of all reservations. The RV section of the campground is separated from where we host the camp-out and accommodates non-fellowship campers. We ask that you be respect those camping outside of A.A., and the rules that come with that territory.

Cabins

Cabins are on a first-come first-serve basis.

Each cabin has 2-4 twin-size bunk beds. Bedding and pillows are not included. Twin size sleeping pad availability varies so you should bring your own sleeping pad.

Priority will go to families of 4, the elderly, and people who need accessibility accommodations. Elderly and people with disabilities have top priority.

Amenities

At the campground there are restroom facilities, that come with hot showers. We keep coffee brewed from 6am-11pm. We offer food for sale in the snack shack during the day. And a nurse's shack for cuts and burns.

Activities

The river is a short walk away. We will provide balls for the basketball court, volleyball court, and the kickball field. There is a playground for kids, but they must be supervised by parents or guardians at all times. There will almost always be a campfire roaring. On Saturday night we roast s'mores and have hot chocolate. There will be an Arts + Crafts table during designated hours. All other activities will be noted on the Schedule of Events.

Meetings

There will be a variety of A.A. Meetings throughout the weekend. There will be a main speaker meeting each evening in the main meeting hall, a late-night campfire meeting Friday and Saturday night, an early-bird morning meeting, a meditation meeting, a river meeting, and a big book study. We often offer an Al-anon meeting for the family members in attendance on Saturday. For more details see the Schedule of Events.
